MCLE Requirements Illinois attorneys whose last names start with N-Z must earn 30 MCLE credits by June 30, 2013, six of which must be PMCLE (Professionalism) credits. Last names A-M must earn 30 MCLE credits (including 6 PMCLE) by June 30, 2014. February 13, 2013 - Chicago Mart Plaza - half day Annual Corporate Intellectual Property Law Conference
Our first Continuing Legal Education event of 2013 presented a noted and diverse faculty of senior in-house counsel, Chief Judge James Holderman of the Northern District of Illinois, top local IP practitioners and representatives from the USPTO. More than 170 attendees from law firms, government and corporations heard diverse perspectives on compelling and contemporary IP issues affecting businesses and practitioners alike. April 16, 2013 - Chicago Marriott Downtown Hotel full day with post-conference reception Annual White Collar Crime + Corporate Governance Conference Nationally-recognized litigators, Fortune 100 corporate officers, senior in-house counsel and top global consultants joined federal government representatives in compelling discussions of contemporary issues facing businesses, management and stockholders. Corporate Compliance, Investigations, Health Care Fraud, DOJ Enforcement Trends, SEC Developments and FCPA were some of the critical topics covered in this elite annual conference. An audience of more than 150 Midwest attorneys, government officials, corporate managers and in-house counsel were in attendance. This event was approved for 7 CLE credits in Illinois and Indiana and 8 CLE credits in Wisconsin.
June 4, 2013 - Westin Chicago River North Hotel - full day Ethics 2013 Prior to the June 30th MCLE reporting deadline, this timely conference provides Illinois attorneys the entire two-year PMCLE (Ethics) requirement in one day! In 2012, more than three hundred attended and earned 6 PMCLE credits. Attendees gained guidance and perspectives from a faculty that included ethics consultants, veteran Chicago lawyers, professional defense practitioners, malpractice insurance carriers, the Cook County judiciary, the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism and the Illinois ARDC. As in previous years, we’ll host different afternoon and morning programs at the same location, each providing 3 PMCLE credits. Attorneys will have the option to register for one program or both.
September 19, 2013 - Chicago Mart Plaza - half day Annual Employment Law Conference Now in its eight year, this conference is well-attended by management, in-house counsel, outside counsel and HR professionals. In 2012, more than two hundred attendees earned 4 MCLE and HR Recertification credits as they heard from a diverse and elite faculty on topics like investigating prospective employees, handling exiting executives, managing social media, and EEOC investigative priorities. United States Regional EEOC Attorney John Hendrickson is a featured speaker on an annual basis in this event that always addresses current and controversial employment law topics.
November 2013 - Downtown Chicago - half day Case Examination 2013 This unique and popular annual seminar provides trial attorneys and risk managers rare and valuable insight from behind the scenes of prominent litigations. Attorneys from both sides of significant matters, as well as the judge who heard their case, will offer candid commentary on issues that were critical to their case: valuation, pre-trial strategies, voir dire, jury management, turning points, witnesses, demonstratives, rulings by the Court and more. November 2013 - Downtown Chicago - half day Annual Symposium with the Judges This annual gathering provides sitting judges from Cook County and Chicagoland a forum to share their wisdom and advice with the lawyers who appear before them. As panelists, the judges field questions, offer candid comments, provide valuable advocacy tips, and reveal the policies and procedures that are unique to their courtrooms.
